"Follow Through Animation" In this video tutorial, you will learn about follow through animation and how to animate a secondary object using "straight ahead" animation techniques. You'll be shown how to add a tail to a bouncing ball, and how the tail is dragged and influenced by the movement of the ball it is attached to, and how it moves and behaves differently than the movement of the ball. You'll then be shown how follow through animation is applied to coat tails on a character that is jumping into the scene and landing. Weight of the secondary object as well as the direction of the character's movement all influence how the object is animated. *BONUS: This tutorial also comes with the actual rough animation flash file (.fla) of the bouncing ball with the tail animation. With this file, you will be able to further study and examine follow through animation, and even use it as a reference guide for your own animations! About the instructor: The video tutorials are created by Ryan Simmons, who has been working in animation for 12 years at studios such as Warner Bros. and Dreamworks on numerous feature films.
